Creating beauty in this decaying mess.
How can you or I add colour and life amidst the collapse all around us?
Will our vibrant and dynamic gifts be appreciated?

I’ve always kind of envied those people who could knit during meetings.
So I took to doing drawings during some meetings. This one was done at a Ch.Y.N.C. meeting.
The sound track to it is the Bruce Cockburn song, “Pacing The Cage”. Google it and listen in, if you are in the mood for some bluesy emotion.
Sample of the lyrics for you -
“Sometimes you feel like you’ve lived too long.
The days drip slowly on the page.
You catch yourself pacing the cage…”
Some questions for reflection, while you listen to the song and consider barbed wire and cages: “What would I rather be doing? What’s holding me back? Where would I like to unleash a more creative approach to my living? Why don’t I?”
And on another track, contemplate the refugees in compounds in Australia.

I was checking the surf at Yaroomba when this awesome storm moved over us. With a film grain setting on the camera, it became even more wild!
When the storm roars….With Christ in my vessel I can smile at the storm, smile at the storm….Yes! Yes, I can! But what kind of smile is it? What is the smile saying?
What kind of smile are you wearing when the storm roars?

So you’ve got some cans, a brick canvass and as much talent as this graff artist and plenty of time. What would you want to say, show, paint as an enduring message in a public space?
Creating beauty in this decaying mess.
How can you or I add colour and life amidst the collapse all around us?
Will our vibrant and dynamic gifts be appreciated?
